Moonlight Mile
by The Rolling Stones
The short version. Mick Taylor played all guitar on this song because Keith was absent. Cocaine induced composition while on their mobile studio, Stargroves. After extensive touring Mick would watch the moon and the scenery from the window of the train trips as they got closer to home. That's where ge was longing to be. Thank god he introduced it to the band. The majestic buildup of strings and piano towards the end of the song is breathtaking. It's considered by many critics as one of the Stones greatest masterpieces. I agree.
1971 - Rolling Stones/Virgin - United Kingdom - A beautiful song that Mick wrote but didn't think it worthy to put on the album.
