timmuky's current selection is:
Mr. Man in the Moon
by Patty Loveless
What a voice this woman has!

Ms. Loveless, born and raised in Pikeville, had an impressive run in the 90s. Many of her best songs suffer from/are blessed by having been dragged through that decade's relentlessly upbeat country pop hybrid production wringer. They're still great. Lying Cheating Heart, i Try to Thnk About Elvis, Tear-Stained Letter (written by Richard Thompson), and the guaranteed-to-make-you-sob, How Can I Help You Say Goodbye.

Her later years have seen a return to a more classic sound (cf her version of Crazy Arms....), and she has definitely embraced her mountain roots with collabs with Ricky Skaggs, Allison Krauss, and others. This is a classic country tune from her slick period, and it's glorious.

Tim Ungs
Countrypolitan, ex-cosmopolitan (NYC, London, Sydney, Minneapolis). Tastes broad, bordering on random. Pop music is good. Can get a little funny about Merle Haggard, Ronnie Lane, and Roger Miller.
