Axol's current selection is:
The Super-Natural
by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
#FiftyYearsAgo #Celebrating1967 No. 7.

The Godfather of the second British Blues Revival, John Mayall had stellar line-ups in his Bluesbreaker groups. Eric Clapton left and was replaced by Peter Green (just listen to the sustain - he was the master of less is more and also wrote this instrumental)

The line up consisted of:

John Mayall (vocals, guitar, harmonica, piano, organ), Peter Green (guitar, vocals), John McVie (bass), Aynsley Dunbar (drums), John Almond (saxophone) on this track and Hughie Flint (Drums), Alan Skidmore (saxophones) and Ray Warleigh (wind instruments) were added for other tracks on the album.

Green, McVie, and others, went on to form Fleetwood Mac. Aynsley Dunbar played with Frank Zappa & The Mothers of Invention, Flint formed McGuiness-Flint etc., and the horn players played in many jazz-rock fusion groups including Soft Machine.

See this link for info on The Album and further links for John Mayall, Peter Green and the groups that Mayall fertilised with his "sidemen".
