Axol's current selection is:
Good Vibrations
by The Beach Boys
#FiftyYearsAgo #Celebrating1967 No. 46.

After Capitol pulled the plug on Brian Wlson's "Smile Project" and The Beach Boys pulled out of The Monterey Pop Festival - their credibility suffered as did Brian's mental health.

Eventualy a new album caled "Smiley Smile" was released which gives some indication of what "Smile" would have been like even though Brian refused to let the Smile Master tapes be used for Smiley Smile.

Good Vibrations had already been released as a single in 1966 and is easily the standout track on The Smiley Smile album.

It sums up the best of Brian Wilson's creativity during the 66-67 period. The rest of the band, to varying decrees, thought they should stick to Surf music.
