Axol's current selection is:
European Son
by The Velvet Underground With Nico
#Celebrating1967 #FiftyYearsAgo No. 9.

The last track on their debut album. About as far away from "the peace and love movement" that one could get. Apparent denigration of a person recently deceased (Delmore Schwartz, a literary mentor to Lou Reed), garage rock meets classical avant garde, breaking dishes with a metal chair etc. The most significant and influential album of 1967 imho despite this year being a turmoil of musical brilliance. Not an easy listen at the time but times change and this is still ahead of its time!!
