Swinging On A Star
by Big Dee Irwin & Little Eva
#BestSixtiesPop
This version of the American pop standard composed by Jimmy Van Heusen and lyrics by Johnny Burke was recorded by DiFosco "Dee" T. Ervin Jr., usually known professionally as Big Dee Irwin, as a duet with Little Eva. The track reached Number 7 in the UK Singles Chart in January 1964

As a student In 1979 I was working the summer months with the local council, collecting domestic garbage - basically a "bin man" in local parlance. Well paid, but messy job.

One day, a little old lady chased after the wagon and offered me a box full of old 7" singles which she thought were probably too good to just throw away, and wondered if I might like them.
I took the box of singles home, and after much cleaning (tepid water and washing up liquid) I discovered a whole bunch of classics - all still in my collection today.
This was one of them.
