I found that I had a love for 1960s Instrumentals especially gutiar driven ones I sort of knew that I liked them but it became quite a thing for me... nothing to do with this though

I have always had a liking for Female bands from a musical perspective of course as many will know.. some time I went on a utube black hole after a track on the jukebox grabbed me and found loads and loads of 60s American (mostly) female garage and "British revival” bands. A bit of discussion about their relevance whether they sung or played...

An out-take from that discussion was that many DID ..

So we come to The Ace of Cups
Mary Gannon (bass), Marla Hunt (organ, piano), Denise Kaufman (guitar, harmonica), Mary Ellen Simpson (lead guitar), and Diane Vitalich (drums) who were formed out of San Francisco in 1967. Their live act drew the attention of The Band and Jimi Hendrix and they opened for both. However despite critical acclaim they never got much beyond recording demos and a promised record deal never materialised until 2018 anyway..

They split in 1972 but reformed in 2017

here’s an article all about it https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/aug/27/ace-of-cups-interview-record-first-album
