Bomberboy's current selection is:
Billericay Dickie
by Ian Dury
From his #debuts album the Cheekie chappy from Harrow Weald, Middlesex about another cheeky chappy from Billericay in Essex

The album was a major success highlighting Ian lyrical prowess matched with a band of mixed musical background that was really tight representing an excellent live band too

Credited to Dury only because the Blockheads did not officially exist until after the record was released it contained no hit singles (initially Sex Drugs and Rock’N’Roll was not included but latterly added, but did appear on the US version - which I brought) The only single release was Sweet Gene Vincent which failed to trouble the Charts

Billericay Dickie is truly a #naughtysongs reflecting on the sexual conquests of a bragging Bricklayer although Ian always felt that Dickie was a “sad Character" often breaking down when performed live (here) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eR6btdbhv8

Surprisingly this does not appear to have been posted before

Personel
Ian Dury – vocals
Chaz Jankel – guitars, keyboards

Additional personnel:

Trivia Point... The album title comes from those being the only items of clothing Ian Insisted on buying new otherwise he brought his other clothes in 2nd hand stores
