Nazareth formed out of Dunfermline, Scotland in 1968 the band were named after Nazareth Pennsylvania which gets a mention in the Band’s Single “The Weight” Their first LP was released in 1971 and after their second (Exercises) was released the band supported Deep Purple on tour and DP bassist Roger Glover produced their 3rd album the successful Razamanaz in 1973 that produced 2 top 10 hit singles followed buy their 4th Loud & Proud with another top 20 smash

Their 5th was rampant which in terms of single releases was nowhere near as good though it did give the band another top UK top 20 and their first US hit (a cover of Love Hurts)

This was the first single and reached #41 in the UK
