Bomberboy's current selection is:
There it is
by Shalamar
Although they had minor hits in the seventies (the biggest being Take it to the bank which hit #20) Shalamar became bigger news in the early 80s with a string of quality R&B/disco funk singles Dead Give away and I Can Make you feel good just two of them.

The two biggest hits both made #5 were A Night to Remember and this, that UK success was not replicated in the USA with only (from 1979) The Second Time Around making top 10 and Dead Giveaway the only other single too break into the top 30 in the Billboard Hot 100

There It Is didn’t hit the charts at all although he Friends album did make a Plantinum

#early80s
#funkyfriday

Just as we drifted out of the period.. so the success by and large dried up with a revert to minor hits
