CarlP's current selection is:
The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys
by Traffic
The first band I ever went to see was Traffic and it was on the tour when they were promoting this album - The Low Spark Of High Heeled Boys.
They were superb and I have been hooked on gig going ever since. (I only got to see Traffic one more time, when the played the Reading Festival in 1974 - it was raining as they played).
I've been playing Traffic a lot in the last few days so it only seems the right thing to share some of this great music.
The accompanying photo here is the wrong line up. Dave Mason (2nd left) was not involved.
The band that played that night was Steve Winwood (organ, guitar and vocals - 1st left), Jim Capaldi (vocals - centre right), Chris Wood (far right) plus Jim Gordon on drums, Ric Grech on bass and Rebop Kwaku Baah on percussion.
Of that band, sadly only Winwood and Gordon are still living. Jim Gordon is detained in a psychiatric facility, having murdered his mother many years ago.
But the music is still here. I hope you like it.
