Mona Pizza
by Wario Ware (composer unknown)
I'm prone to reading books and watching films that reinforce my pessimistic outlook- mostly because I feel that pessimism is the far larger half of realism. But if and when I have any time for video games, I am coming in for refuge and nostalgia for a time when I was too young to know how bad shit is. So I lean heavily towards Nintendo for the colorful aesthetic and the dadaist surrealism that the Japanese think is cute.

But really, under the Nintendo aesthetics of this Mona Pizza clip- one discovers that it's a commentary on the corporate consolidation that eliminates all real choice in the market.... because everything now is about late stage capitalism, as nothing can help but to reflect the world it was made in... CURSE YOU PIZZA DINOSAUR!!!!!

Alte Geist is the faux-appelation of an ex-Pennsylvanian resident self-banished to Asia. The Alte used to think that avoiding his life via intensive mediation was the way to do things, so he has accrued a great deal of music and cartoons and comic books and novels and podcasts and video games etc. That part of his life is over, or at least greatly reduced now, but he has found it's actually kind of nice to hear music when you've let go of the need to acquire it. Also, for those that remember all the Chinese oldies and such I used to post at TIMJ- they're over @WeePushkin now, on this very site.
