It occurs to me I haven't posted for toooo long. This is a lazy one - dedicated to Chris Woakes. I'd have done Katrina & The Waves, but it's been posted loads already.

Don't bother rushing off to google. He's a cricketer - bowls primarily, but useful in bat. He and Joffra Archer pretty much saw off Australia in the World Cup semi-final today.

England invented cricket (*baseball too, as an aside). We've been OK at it for 150 years. Some fool invented a World Cup for it 44 years ago. A few years back someone invented a WC for a truncated version, which we have managed to win (once).

The world cup I want however has eluded us. Australia (the beautiful) has managed to win it 5 times. They aren't going to manage a 6th this time around. I'm going to enjoy a 2.5 days of delicious anticipation of us being World Champs.

Should we lose I'm OK. NZ is a fantastic nation - I keep being impressed with them. Mosque slaying? Ban automatic weapons - do it in a month. Their budget for national well-being, over pursuit of increase in GDP is impressively mature, adult and an impressive alternative to to the Brexit shit sandwich being served up to the UK public. That said I hope we pull their (black) pants down and administer the kind of beating handed out today.

TL;DR I'm pleased about the cricket.

*I quite like baseball, but if you want something more dynamic have a look at cricket.
