JiveMonkey's current selection is:
Your Mother Should Know
by The Beatles
Blimey! I've spent all morning trying to find a decent song about Mums for Mothering Sunday, & this is the best I could find.
God there's a lot of syrupy, schmaltzy, saccharine shinola out there!
I considered Floyd's Mother, too depressing. Even Kate Bush's Mother Stands for Comfort is hardly uplifting. Abba's Does Your Mother Know, whilst catchy, is hardly one of their best.
I flirted with Fergie's M.I.L.F.$, but reprobate that I am, that was a tad too far for me.
Maybe I'm overlooking a stack of great songs but it seems there's a gaping great hole in the musical market for some decent songs about Mothers.
