Labracoon's current selection is:
Uptown
by The Chambers Brothers
Online research shows that after writing this for The Chambers Brothers, Betty Davis ("They Say I'm Different" and "Nasty Gal" fame and ex-wife of Miles Davis) caught her first break in music. It doesn't appear she ever recorded this but Johnny Thunders and Patti Palladin did in 1988 ( https://youtu.be/jVMbt4xrI-E ). There's a 1971 live version (11+ minutes) out there by Tommy Bolin with Zephyr ( https://youtu.be/cgtMxDww5RA ).
