I have often said and its true that I play a lot of my stuff randomly. Much of that has to do with not totally getting on with LPs in their entirety and my evenings listening being spent walking over to the record deck to move a track on or take the disc off and replace it.

I then moved onto cassettes and Home Taping (IS KILLING MUSIC) and compiling my own mixtapes and also brought a few samplers and compilations (like Vertigo’s Suck it an see) which gave me a wide range of material but of course I still had to move it on

When I had a CD player for the first time I had a “shuffle Button” on this WAS fun...

anyway we get to this track which whilst it was on Split in 1971 (and the Groundhogs have Split was an amusing - for a while anyway - reason to snigger) this was also on a compilation boxed set called Radio Caroline Rock Flashback of 3 CDS

The album was the bands 5th Studio album and reached #5 in the UK album charts..

According to Wiki the studio version of this was done in 1 take.. the album doesn’t refer to the band breaking up but a panic attack the Tony T.S. Mcpee had

Tony T.S. McPhee – guitars, vocals
Peter Cruikshank – bass guitar
Ken Pustelnik – drums
