#Obscure90s

Love this nearly forgotten band. Not a feel good track this one but good example of their lyrical interest which is the bands most distinguishing feature (and the trumpet). Set against the brash arrogance of Britpop their songs are all at once romantic, magical, and street-wise, little vignettes of 90s London, interesting and totally charming imo.

Animals That Swim are three brothers Hugh Barker, Hank Starrs (born Jeffrey Barker), Al Barker plus Del Crabtree and Charlie Luciano.

I nearly posted their second single, "Roy" which consists of an imaginary conversation with the ghost of Roy Orbison -

We have their debut album "Workshy" which was number 15 in the NME's list of best albums of 1994.

If you are intrigued enough, Snowstorm issued a best of compilation album, "Faded Glamour" in 2004 and in March 2011, the band recorded two new songs, "Tiny Lucifer" and "Silver Rays", which were released online on iTunes.

Plans to record more songs are currently on hold as the band have been unable to find enough spare time to get into a recording studio.

Workshy was re-released on 3 February 2017 through One Little Indian Records (Elemental Records).

They are obscure but have been jammed before on here:
