PartyTearsFew's current selection is:
Ergen Deda
by Le Mystere des Voix Bulgares
I was just reminded of this by @daviesr7's jam Never Be Mine from Kate Bush Sensual World album. I will repeat what was stirred in my memory:

When I met my husband to be in 1989 this was the only Kate Bush album he had (and a wonderful one it is too) I then set about introducing him to the rest. The Bulgarian Folk on this album sets it apart I think, and was one of the reasons he loved it as he had a treasured album by Le Mysteres Des Voix Bulgares (Volume 1) which he then introduced to me. The Trio Bulgarka on The Sensual World are from that original choir.

Ivo Watts the founder of 4AD was also smitten.

This is for Mr PTF - I hope some of you enjoy it too. I'm not sure about the year. Edit - I've now put the correct year for this album, only ten years out!
1975 - Bulgaria - 'Le Mystère Des Voix Bulgares' is a project by Marcel Cellier to present Bulgarian traditional music on his label Disques Cellier. Contributors to this project were various Bulgarian singers, among them the Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir, The Trio Bulgarka and several others.
