Wildest Dreams
by Janice Freeman
Janice Freeman (1985 to 2019) was an American singer and reality TV contestant ("The Voice"). Janice Freeman was born on June 9th 1985 in Covina, California, USA. She moved to Los Angeles in 1999, where she studied music and computer information systems. While still studying, she also travelled internationally as part of the singing group 'M.I.G.', and finished in the US Top 6 of Kirk Franklin's "Sunday Best Show". She decided to dedicate herself to music full-time in 2013, and as a singer/songwriter was accepted into the songwriters' association "SESAC". Although she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2012, she was given the all-clear and began performing music gigs once again locally. She first rocketed to fame in 2017, competing as a member of 'Team Miley' on the thirteenth season of the 'NBC' singing talent series "The Voice". Outside of her involvement with "The Voice", she was extremely active on the social media platforms Instagram and Twitter. At 21 years old, she had given birth to a daughter - sadly, the child's father passed away from cancer four years later, and she eventually married Dion, with whom she also began performing gigs. Today's featured song was included on a 'Decca Gold' various artists' compilation called "Hopes & Dreams - The Lullaby Project" in 2018. Janice Freeman died at a hospital in Pasadena from a blood clot caused by pneumonia on March 2nd 2019, aged just 33.

Hundreds of very talented musicians pass away each year, some without much recognition at all. On "Rest In Peace ✚", I aim to give them a fitting 'send-off', with a decent Tribute. I hope you will join me in marking their passing.....
