Thecoverguy's current selection is:
Solid Gold Easy Action
by Department S
#bangingbside
Originally issued in 1980 and produced by Mott The Hoople members Overend Watts and Buffin with Thunderthighs on backing vocals. After Is Vic There reached #22 in the UK RCA records signed the band and reissued it

The band signed to Stiff who released Is Vic There jn the USA with a different B side. However as beset the band throughout its history arguments and personnel changes meant their 1981 album was scrapped, mainly because the band were dropped by Stiff, but resurfaced in 2003.

The band have released 3 albums and remain active on the live circuit

According to another Wiki entry the backing vocals were provided by Bananarama and I have read that the original production of the song was somewhat heavier but was sanitised... i'm not sure where
