#AprilMusicChallenge Day 21 Strutting your stff

My disco daze were in effect 2 phases although I went to discos in the early 70s it was mostly rock discos (Monday Nights In The City) or the odd 30 minutes of rock before the serious dancing began

At the table end of the decade I started to think about a girlfriend.. this failed but this would get me moving

Ain't no stoppin us now written by Jerry Cohen Gene McFadden and John Whitehead and recorded by the latter duo in 1979 and released on their eponymous debut album and as a single where it went to #5 in the UK and #13 in the Billboard Hot 100

The track by Wet Wet Wet includes a short excerpt of Le Freak written by Bernard Edward's and Nile Rodgers in 1978 and recorded by Chic and released on their C'est Chic album and as a single it was a huge success reaching #1 in Australia Canada New Zealand South Africa & the Billboard Hot 100 stateside It stalled at #7 in the UK but was top 10 in many other countries

An acid house version Jack Le Freak was released in 1987 reaching #17 in the UK

Picture this was Wet Wet Wet's 4th Studio album originally released in 1995. A 20 year anniversary deluxe Edition was released with 18 live, rare and B sides including this live cover
