ThomasOShea's current selection is:
The Days Of Pearly Spencer
by Marc Almond
A Trevor Horn production again today, which resulted in another cover hit for Marc when it, perhaps surprisingly, managed to make No. 4 in the UK.

The original, released in 1967 by David McWilliams, never charted at all here, apparently stymied by a lack of BBC radio play, despite extensive advertising and much needle time from the pirates: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Days_of_Pearly_Spencer

That recording (accompanied by some lengthy discussion underneath) was first posted on here by @debutch back in 2016 as part of the 'Best Sixties Pop' theme week - https://www.godsjukebox.com/debutch/david-mcwilliams-the-days-of-pearly-spencer/ - and again by @Murkredi earlier this year, but this is the first time Marc's version has been selected.
