ThomasOShea's current selection is:
Honey
by Moby
Play was released 20 years ago tomorrow [17 May], but this, the opening track, was issued as a single some nine months previously, reaching No. 33 in the UK. The follow-up, 'Run On', also made No. 33, as did the LP itself during its initial brief run on the chart.

However, the extensive licensing of all 18 of the record's songs to various films, TV shows and adverts began to help drip-feed the music into the public's consciousness and at the start of the new year, the album crept back into the chart and spent the next three months slowly ascending until it finally hit Number One in April 2000 for a five week spell at the top, almost a year after it came out.

It eventually went on to sell 12 million copies worldwide, almost two million of which were here in the UK and close to another three million in the US.

An excerpt from Moby's just-published second memoir, Then It Fell Apart, recalling the inauspicious first promotional performance/appearance at the Virgin Megastore in New York City can be found here: https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/moby-play-then-it-fell-apart-excerpt-826625/
