Rocks [Live on The Word]
by Primal Scream
I recently caught a repeat of the BBC Four documentary [The Lost Memphis Tapes] about the aborted sessions/recordings with Tom Dowd at Ardent Studios that the band initially intended to be the follow-up album to Screamadelica, only for them to remain unreleased in their original form until last year.

Apparently it was all down to Alan McGee of Creation wanting a 'bigger' sounding record, meaning that the whole thing was then re-worked, re-mixed and re-recorded to create the eventual end product of Give Out But Don't Give Up.

'Rocks' was the first single taken from the finished album and became the band's first UK Top Ten hit when it made No. 7. Here's a clip of the band promoting it with a live performance on The Word, which clearly underwhelmed host Mark Lamarr judging from his comment at the end.
