Side One, Track One: A Message To You Rudy
by The Specials
To mark the 40th anniversary of the release of The Specials' #Debuts LP on 19 October 1979, I've decided to 'borrow' @leejohnson 's Hashtag Album concept and post the whole thing (quite a surprisingly labour-intensive process) in a #Skaturday spectacular.

The record entered and peaked at No. 4 in the UK album chart, initially out-performing One Step Beyond... by Madness which was released on the same day.

The latter (both LP and band) went on to win the war of commerical success, though, this original line-up of the previously-named Coventry Automatics disintegrating within 18 months - Terry Hall, Lynval Golding and Neville Staples announcing they were leaving the group in a BBC dressing room whilst waiting to perform 'Ghost Town' on Top Of The Pops the week it reached Number One.
