A song representing the delusional notion that the arbitrary time markings we devise hold some sort of cosmic significance and that what we call a 'new year' isn't just another day- and the self-deluding renewal of hope that comes with it.

Fun fact- the main color of the Chinese New Year is bright red. and traditional music for the time is a percussive racket (some of which I'll post tomorrow)- some traditions include lighting big rolls of firecrackers and keeping watch by staying up till dawn on New Year's eve. what this all has in common is the old belief that once per annum, a giant monster came out of the sea (the monster's name 'nian' is where the Chinese word for 'year' comes from) and ravaged the land, merrily eating people. Luckily, an immortal shared the knowledge that loud noises and the color red could fend him off...
