Countdown of my 10 all-time favourite albums.

Number 7 : "UNKNOWN PLEASURES" ( 1979 )

Bought soon after its release in June 1979, I was fortunate enough to see Joy Division live only 2 months later suppoted by Echo & The Bunnymen & The Teardrop Explodes.
They performed this album along with other songs like " Transmission" and "Dead souls" and I remember how Ian Curtis distracted my attention from everything else in the room.

It was the intensity.... gripping but almost seemingly out of control and when he began his ferocious dance of abandonment, it was shocking but shamelessly exhilarating.

One of the great "dark" albums of our age.
