debutch's current selection is:
Do It Anyway You Wanna"
by Mike T
#AprilMusicChallenge ( Day 21 ; funky stuff )

The man who kick-started Rap / Hip-Hop?

I have had this 12" since 1981 & I still find it impossible not to move in rhythm to it when I hear it.

( Information below found in archives....)

Written, arranged, Produced and Performed by Mike "T" Recorded 1981
Mike is the DJ who first played Rappers Delight by the "SugarHill Gang" on Radio anywhere in USA at a Live Broadcast for WNJR @ Club called Zanzibar in Newark which indeed broke the Records exposure to now the World.

Joe Robinson the head of Sugar Hill Records was a friend of Mikes and it was Mike "T". who introduced Jiggs Chase (better known as Jigsaw) to Joe Robinson

- Jiggs eventually went on to produce t the Message by "Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five" so Mike T is probably the most instrumental conduit in laying the behind the scenes groundwork genre to day known as "Rap and Hip Hop" than anyone in the Music Industry!

As a consumate MC Mike T. rapped to energize audiences before bringing on to the stage artists like the Moments, Manhattans, Whispers etc.

So here's a groove and song he would Rap to audiences that eventually he recorded - so Enjoy and "Do it Any Way you Wannaaa"!
