debutch's current selection is:
"Birthday Special"
by Peter Hammill
#Obscure70s

Peter Hammill was the singer in Van Der Graaf Generator, probably the most serious, complex, intellectual, po-faced Progressive-Rock band of them all in the 70s

Now, despite this being advertised as a Hammill solo project, ( title; "Nadir's Big Chance" released Feb. 1975 ) it actually 'IS' Van Der Graaf, the whole band, playing on this album and God knows what was put in their tea when they recorded it because it turned out sounding something like a punk album!!
........well, a 'Prog-Punk' album at least, if such a thing ever existed.

Even John Lydon loved this LP & believe it or not, was a big VDGG fan too!

I have no idea who the woman is in this video or what she has to do with the song.
