kzone8's current selection is:
Jupiter Or the Moon
by Los Lobos
We are doing #MoonWeek again? That's sheer lunarcy!

Since this is to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20, the most obvious choice would of course be "Walking on the Moon" by The Police, but that song has of course been posted here many times, along with cover versions of it.

I thought of doing Los Lobos' "Kiko and the Lavender Moon," but I have done that before, as have others. So instead I am going with "Jupiter Or the Moon" off of their album "Tin Can Trust." The song was written by band members David Hidalgo and Louie Perez. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Americana Album.

Here is a live version from The Warehouse at FTC in Fairfield, CT, in 2012: https://youtu.be/7KnrPwWRvX0

"If I could
Turn night into day
You know I would

If I could
Make stone into gold
You know I would

Look for why
Up in the sky
Where have you gone
Gone so soon?
Ask Jupiter or the moon

If I could
Move clouds from the blue
You know I would

If I could
Make this day last
You know I would

A quiet sigh
At morning light
Where did you go
Go so soon?
Wake Jupiter or the moon

Talk to me
Hear me please
How long is forever?
Tell me Jupiter or the moon

Gazing up
Into the dark
If you could
If you would
You should just
Talk to me
Hear me please
How long is forever?"

Enjoy!
