leejohnson's current selection is:
Cuba
by Gibson Brothers

#1978

#DiscoInTheSeventies

Can't really find anything in the world of blogs which would do justice to today's selection as far as significant info is concerned. So I'll just copy-and-paste from its Wikipedia article if you don't mind:

"Cuba" is a 1978 song by the Gibson Brothers taken from their album [of the same name]. It was the group's first charting single, reaching No. 41 in the UK upon its original release; however, following the success of their follow-up Top 10 hit songs "Ooh, What a Life" and "Que Sera Mi Vida (If You Should Go)", it was re-released in 1980 where it reached No. 12 in the UK with "Better Do It Salsa". However, its chart performance did not improve in the US due in large part to the "Anti Disco Backlash" in the States at the time.

[ That is all. And what a poorly-written Wikipedia article - I've had to edit for grammar and punctuation quite a few times! ]

Born in 1954, leaving education by 1972, 'glam' was my thing, "Ziggy" Bowie my hero. I was even the only guy in my town with the haircut (though not the carrot red colouring!). Therefore every seventh selection is a Bowie track.
