The Beautiful Changes
by Julie Covington
Title track from Julie Covington's 1971 album. The album flopped and was unavailable for many years, but is nowadays recognized as one of the master pieces of British music in the early Seventies. The album was re-released in 1999 via See For Miles Records and in 2012 via Cherry Red.

I bought my second hand copy (EMI Columbia) for a few Dutch guilders in 1982 or '83 in the record store where I worked in those days. I bought it for the Alice Cooper cover 'Only Women Bleed' ( https://youtu.be/0VpRP00-Xxk ), that turned out to be on another album. It took a few years before I played 'The Beautiful Changes' for the first time and finally discovered the total beauty of that album. And today it would be in my Desert Island Disks selection.
