Split Myself in Two
by Meat Puppets

From one of my all-time favorite albums Meat Puppets II. I could have juked any track of that brilliant album, including the three songs (Plateau/Oh, Me/Lake Of Fire) that Nirvana played with the Meat brothers at their legendary MTV Unplugged session: : But I was in the mood for this one.

AZCentral, part of the USA Today website, once published a Top 15 of Meat Puppets songs and wrote about their no.5 'Split Myself In Two': "This punkish highlight of their celebrated second album features an insistent bass groove and a brilliantly unhinged vocal from Curt Kirkwood, cracking his way through anxiety-laden high notes – a performance that peaks on the delivery of "Oh, Mary Lou, won't you tell me what to do? / I got a dollar on the corner and a laser in my shoe." From "II" "
