Since I Lost You

I'm still not sure if I have the right hashtag for the end-of-year-tributes-to-other-jammers event, but I'm using #JukeboxJamboree2018 until somebody tells me otherwise.

My favorite GJB event this year was the April Music Challenge, which was created by @ChrissyB. I really enjoyed the concept of looking at my music collection in new ways. For many of the days I had several - occasionally dozens - of songs to choose from, and a story to go with my choice. (There was one day I had no idea and made a regrettable choice that I won't mention by name.)

It was fun to do, and that's what I love about this site. That said, I have a large note of all my potential selections that I didn't make - some of them made it into later posts, and that's what I'll do here with this choice. This was on my short list for Day 27 - "A Song That Breaks Your Heart." I chose "Picture Postcards from LA" which is sad, but this song - written by Phil Collins to mark the death of Eric Clapton's son Conor - was a close second. It is a painful lament that I don't play often, especially now that I have kids of my own. I wouldn't have listened to it at all but for the April Music Challenge, and it changed my perspective on my day.

(Lol I see I wrote about this song in my comments about "Picture Postcards from LA" and said that Phil's voice was giving me hives. It still does occasionally. :D )
