Fallin' In Love
by Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds
#easy70s
#sundaysoother

#1 in the US, #2 in Canada, but only #33 in the UK.

One of the running themes of band names in the 70s was to name the band after the members of the band, which would mean if a member left the band it would have to be renamed. This band formed in 1970 with Dan Hamilton, Joe Frank Carollo, and Tommy Reynolds. After the band scored a #4 hit in 1971, Reynolds left the group in 1972. The remaining band members changed record labels in 1974, but their new contract required them to keep the band name as is even though Alan Dennison had taken over Reynolds' role in the band. A 1976 album released as Hamilton, Joe Frank & Dennison did not hit.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 had an amusing segment discussing the band's funny name where they never actually got the band members' names correct: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhwOwl1KfSU

BTW, yes, that was Hugh Hefner's Record label.

And no, I have no idea who the woman is in the video. Maybe she's "Ann Reynolds."
