Mama Weer All Crazee Now
by Quiet Riot
I posted once before a lengthy writeup about the relationship between the US' 1980s addiction to hair metal, while the same audience largely passed on 1970s glam rock which was more popular in the UK. The artist who flaunted this the most was Quiet Riot, whose biggest hit "Cum on Feel the Noize" was a fairly faithful cover of a glam hit by Slade. https://www.godsjukebox.com/thatguyaz/quiet-riot-cum-on-feel-the-noize/

When it came time for a follow-up hit to their top-5 smash hit the next year, Quiet Riot reached for another Slade song. They repeated their formula of layering guitars into the mix and throwing hair around in an epic 80's video, and waited for success. Alas, this time it eluded them, as this cover of Slade's 1972 hit only reached #51 on the US pop charts.
