So NPR assembled a "Best 100 tracks from SXSW" playlist that was available for free for 48 hours. It was a good trick because it encouraged people to either download all 100, or to flip through them quickly. Setting aside the hip hop and country, I was still looking at about 70+ songs. I had to manually start them, so I started a click - work - notice silence - click - work pattern. A song might catch my attention, and I'd download it.

This song had me 20 seconds in. It's got a great 70s funk sound, with synth reminiscent of Jamiroquai. The bridges are unbelievable - something out of jazz fusion. As I type this, I'm wondering why I haven't bought the album. I think I'm going to cure that right after I hit post.

The band is a duo - Drummer Yussef Dayes and keyboardist/drummer Kamaal Williams (aka Henry Wu). The album dropped last November via Bandcamp. https://yussefkamaal.bandcamp.com/

Also, big hat tip to @homosporocarpus who first posted here another track named "Remembrance" back when the album was first released.
