timmuky's current selection is:
Let Me Off Uptown
by Anita O'Day with Gene Krupka, feat. Roy Eldridge
So much to love about this.

Krupka's manic drumming, foreshadowing Keith Moon (only Gene was keeping the beat lol).... Anita's crazy hand jive ... the dancers ... Maybe my favorite was when the horn section stood up and did a "we are not worthy" wave after Roy's solo at about 2:45.

This was Anita's first big hit.

Let me pitch that documentary to you again. Bookmark it and watch it in parts, or binge the whole thing. The lady was a force of nature, tell you hwat.

Tim Ungs
Countrypolitan, ex-cosmopolitan (NYC, London, Sydney, Minneapolis). Currently obsessing over pop jazz vocalists like June Christy, Billie Holiday, Ella, Hoagie, Satch, Anita O'Day and kinda going through a major Peggy Lee phase. Also stan for current pop divas like Charli, Rosalia, Kesha, and Sky; and will never lose my love for country roots Charlie Rich, Merle, Milton Brown!!
