The Motel
by David Bowie
So, I've been reading Clifford Slapper's biography of Mike Garson, and one of my favourite parts is a selective Bowie discography pointing to some of the best Garson piano work. I've been relistening to albums like Black Tie White Noise, Buddha of Suburbia, Outside etc. and re-appraising them with a focus on Garson's genius.

So to kick off my totally unsolicited #GarsonWeek, let us start with a track from Outside, an album much maligned at the time but more recently considered to be a return to form for Bowie after his Tonight/Never Let Me Down wilderness years. Personally I still cringe at the dialogue/segue elements, but one of the joys of listening digitally is you can just leave those tracks out :-)

Either way, check the piano on this...
